What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser. The next time you visit, the website can read the file and remember something simple — that you accepted a banner, that your shopping cart had something in it, that you are logged in. Cookies cannot run programs or read files on your computer.
The cookies this site sets
Movarix uses a small handful of cookies and a similar amount of restraint:
- movarix_consent_v1 — a single record of whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies on this site, so we do not show the banner on every visit. Stored for twelve months. Strictly necessary; cannot be disabled if you wish to use the site.
- PHPSESSID — a session cookie that lets the contact form pair a CSRF token with your browser session. Deleted automatically when you close the browser. Strictly necessary.
- _ga / _ga_* (only if you accept) — Google Analytics 4 cookies that count visits and report which pages are read. Anonymised at IP level. Stored for fourteen months. Set only after you click Accept all.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not embed third-party trackers — no Facebook pixel, no LinkedIn insight tag, no chat widget that calls home.
Changing your mind
The small cog icon in the bottom corner of every page reopens the cookie banner. From there you can switch from Accept all to Essentials only at any moment. You can also clear the cookies in your browser's settings at any time; the banner will simply reappear on your next visit.
Browser controls
If you would prefer to manage cookies for every website at once, all major browsers let you block third-party cookies, clear stored cookies, or refuse cookies entirely. The instructions are kept up to date by the browser vendors; search for cookie settings in your browser's help menu.
