Effective date. This policy was last updated on 1 March 2026 and applies to every visitor of movarix.pro as well as anyone who emails, telephones or visits the workshop in person.
1. Who we are
Movarix Atelier Holdings Limited (Company No. 08842301) is the data controller for the information described below. Our address is 42 Hewett Street, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3NN, United Kingdom. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
2. What we collect, and why
We try to ask for as little as possible. The categories below cover the entirety of what we hold:
- Brief details. Your name, email, telephone (if you give one) and the description of the room or piece you have in mind. This is collected through the contact form, by email or during a workshop visit. We use it to draft and deliver your project.
- Project paperwork. If a project proceeds, we keep drawings, fabric specifications, delivery addresses and invoices. These let us refurbish a piece years later if you ask us to.
- Trade applicant data. For interior designers and architects, we hold a basic trade form: company name, registered number, contact and a short description of the practice.
- Site analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, an anonymised record of which pages you visited helps us understand which collection pages are read and which are skipped.
We do not collect special category data; we do not buy or sell mailing lists; and we do not enrich what you share with us against external databases.
3. Lawful basis
Where we process information you have given us, the lawful basis is contract performance — preparing drawings, building your piece, delivering it. Where we send a one-off newsletter or share an event invitation, the basis is your consent, freely given and easily withdrawn. Records that we keep for accounting and warranty purposes are held under our legitimate interest in operating the atelier responsibly.
4. Who sees your data
Inside the atelier, only the upholsterer or seamstress assigned to your project, the project manager and the directors. Outside the atelier, your data may pass through a small set of carefully chosen processors — our website host, our email provider, an outsourced bookkeeping firm, and the timber yard that cuts our frames (only when a delivery address needs to be passed on for direct shipping). Each is bound by a written processing agreement.
We do not transfer personal data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area without an appropriate safeguard in place — typically the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we hold things
Brief enquiries that do not progress are deleted after twelve months. Project paperwork is held for the lifetime of the piece plus six years (because clients regularly come back to refurbish). Accounting records are held for seven years to satisfy HMRC. Analytics data is anonymised and retained for fourteen months.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask us to access, correct, delete or limit our use of your personal information; to receive a portable copy of it; or to withdraw any consent you have given. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]; we respond within thirty days.
7. Security
The website is served over HTTPS with a current TLS certificate. Form submissions are protected by anti-spam and CSRF measures. Office computers are encrypted at rest, our cloud accounts use multi-factor authentication, and paper project files are kept in a locked cabinet at the atelier.
8. Cookies
For details about which cookies are used and how to change preferences, please see our cookie policy.
9. Updates
If we make a change to this policy that materially affects how your data is handled, we will notify you in writing if we have your contact details, or post a clearly dated update at the top of this page. The current version is always the one shown above.
